The humble ice cream sundae has been given a luxury makeover, pushing its price tag up to an unappetizing $1,000.

Bagatelle, a French bistro in New York’s Meatpacking district much loved by celebrities including the Kardashian sisters along with Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce, will add the pricey dessert to its menu on May 1.

The frozen recipe features vanilla ice cream, chocolate truffles, French macaroons, Dom Perignon rosé champagne sorbet, chocolate vodka sauce, brownies, whipped cream and the pièce de résistance – a diamond ring.

It was created by Bagatelle’s executive chef Sebastien Chamaret.
